Art House: Inside the home of creatives, Carrie Kennedy and Ben Morieson
What we did
“In 2005 we pulled down the old lean-to and added an openplan living, dining and kitchen space, which was built for us by friends while we were working overseas,” says Carrie. “We then built the art studio and landscaped the front and back gardens.”
“The big back room, as it gets great light and we oriented it so we could stare out to the big ash tree and the garden,” says Carrie. “Also, from the back lane we get a great view of a big, gold Mary statue on top of a nearby church.”
“The inner north is great for bike paths, restaurants, the No. 96 tram and our lovely neighbours.”
“We’d love to extend up – put a box on top to get city views.”
“Always add loads of art and plants, and lots of ambient lamps,” says Carrie.
