Malaysian Mowgli hospitalised after fall
Muhammad Syukur Khamis, who is known as the “Malaysian Mowgli” due to his bond with animals on his father’s farm, was hurt when he fell off a buffalo, reported Utusan Malaysia.
Muhammad Syukur fell while jumping from one buffalo to another at about 8am on Saturday during a photo shoot with a photographer from Penang.
He then began vomiting and complained of headaches soon after the incident.
According to his elder brother Muhammad Shawal Khamis, Muhammad Syukur is receiving treatment at Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Kuala Terengganu, and is waiting for more tests.
He said Muhammad Syukur could be discharged in two or three days if his condition improves.
Pictures of Muhammad Syukur posing with animals on his father’s farm went viral on social media and even led to a photographer winning an award.
> A single mother and her two children, who were forced to live in a goat shelter since last year, have moved into a new house in Kelantan, reported Berita Harian.
Their new home in Kampung Chegar Bongar was built by the Kelantan Islamic Affairs and Malay Customs Council.
“After our plight was highlighted in the media, the council offered us a new home. Thanks to them, we now have a proper home,” 39-year-old Ruslida Kamarazaman said.
It was reported that Ruslida was forced to move to a goat barn with her children aged two and seven after divorcing her husband. She earns RM10 a day as a rubber tapper.
Her in-laws had allowed the three of them to stay in the goat shelter temporarily.
